Hyaluronic Acid  Fillers

When we age, we tend to lose volume, especially in the face. Dermal fillers restore that lost volume, filling in the crevices and smoothing the skin so that lines and wrinkles are improved or disappear. They can also “prop up” sagging areas.

Sometimes called facial fillers, these products aren’t restricted to the face. They can also be used on your neck, hands, ear lobes, and other areas to restore volume and reduce wrinkles.

The following products are the fillers we use. Click on the names to read more specifics about each one:

Restylane

Restylane Lyft

Juvederm and Juvederm Plus

Radiesse

Sculptra

Belotero

Voluma

Using a combination of freezers and fillers, we can subtly contour and lift your face in a Liquid Facelift that could postpone the need for a surgical face lift or brow lift.

Dermal Fillers FAQ

Do Juvéderm and Juvéderm Plus injections hurt?

They hurt a little bit, but not a lot. The injections also contain Lidocaine, which provides a helpful numbing effect. And don’t forget that we’re happy to hold your hand, give you a squeeze toy, or use a numbing cream if you’re worried about the pain.

What’s the difference between Juvéderm and Juvéderm Plus?

The simple explanation is that Juvéderm Plus is slightly thicker and works better on deeper folds and creases.

How does Juvéderm differ from other hyaluronic dermal fillers?

Juvéderm is more like a syrup, while Restylane is more like a gel. These differences in consistency make each filler unique. So, we can and do use them differently to make you look your best. During your consultation with our staff, they will be able to tell which fillers will work best for you. This comes from years of observing how these subtle differences between fillers manifest.

How long do Juvéderm and Juvéderm Plus injections last?

Juvéderm and Juvéderm Plus injections can last as long as a year.

What is recovery like?

Just like other dermal fillers, you don’t have to “recover” from filler injections. Leave our office, and get on with your life. If you have any reaction at all, you’ll experience mild swelling and a few faint bruises that you can cover with makeup, and these effects will go away within a few days.

Are hyaluronic acid fillers safe?

The hyaluronic acid that make up Juvéderm and Juvéderm Plus is a sugar that naturally occurs in your body, so an allergic reaction is extremely rare. The injections just restore the volume you once had.

A week prior to filler injections stop all:

  • multivitamins

  • aspirin

  • Co Q10

  • fish oil

  • ibuprofen

  • green tea

  • Advil

  • any herbs

  • vitamin c and blood thinners.

You also want to start taking Arnicare tablets or pellets to help minimize the bruising that may occur after treatment.
